There have been more potential SEO clients in Omaha contacting me so I wanted to give a more functional web site with additional information. It’s been a couple of years since SEMAdvantage.com went “live” and it was time to present a more professional online image.  No graphics and a pale gray background for a navigation menu didn’t exactly excite the senses. Most importantly, it’s easier for me to add content. The web site is still in a state of flux - and will be for several more days - so let me know if you come across any broken links or missing files.

This new format utilizes a WordPress blog as the content management system. Previously, I used a tool referred to as KSEO, which can do an adequate job - but formatting new content and updating internal linking was not as easy as with WordPress and the plugins I have available. There was talk for well over a year that KSEO would be updated - but the creator has refused to respond to my emails and phone messages. WordPress has an enormous community of developers and users - who are constantly fine tuning and creating new “plug-ins” for useful features.

Another advantage of the blog format for content management is that search engines are immediately notified when new content is added via a “ping” to different servers. That’s a key feature for tackling one SEO challenge - How to get the search engine spiders to your site? A blog post doesn’t rely on you finding a theme related web site to get a link from (but you should still be looking for them). Just make your post and allow pings - the search engine bots will come by soon enough.
